Successes of the Radford High School Foundation

A financial advisor with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, George “Abie” Williams has served as Senior Vice President Investments at Stifel Nicolaus since 2010. A graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned a bachelor of science in accounting, George “Abie” Williams is also the chairman and a charter member of the nonprofit organization Radford High School Foundation.

Established in 1986, the Radford High School Foundation has overseen a number of projects throughout its history. In 1999, it guided the funding and construction of the high school’s $1.2 million James P. King Center. It also funded the 2005 construction of the Radford municipal baseball field, one of the best high school fields in Virginia. The foundation awarded over $14,000 in classroom grants to teachers across the city’s four schools in the fall 2014 period, and approximately $20,000 in spring 2014 student scholarships, bringing its total amount contributed in classroom grants and student scholarships to more than $400,000.
